Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one session without the need to switch between devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer at a affordable price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For example, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will tell you exactly what the robot done, where it is going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed like emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing recharging or returning to the base. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its path automatically and clean around them without stumbling.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.
best inexpensive robot vacuum found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mowing abilities. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. The X40 is also very quiet while in use and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 has an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to reach under furniture with a low profile, making it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or individually. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available, but it packs in many extra features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and soiled spots.
The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or there are buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
